Delays Plague Compensatory Measures for Akamas Region

The implementation of 11 compensatory measures for the communities of Akamas is significantly delayed, despite being approved two and a half years ago. According to a report, many of the measures remain pending, failing to strengthen socio-economic activity and sustainable development in the area. Local authorities complain about serious delays and obstruction from the state, particularly regarding the creation of an industrial zone and a livestock area. While some measures, such as land subsidies and the operation of the Local Coordinating Office, have been implemented, they have not addressed the main problem of the region, which is the lack of job opportunities and the emigration of young people. Faster implementation of the projects is deemed essential for the recovery of the area.
