The Price Observatory of the Consumer Protection Service recorded significant fluctuations in product prices in December 2025. Large increases were observed in fresh vegetables, sugar, and fresh fish, while decreases were recorded in flour, frozen shellfish, and oil. Overall, out of 45 basic product categories, 17 increased, 26 decreased, and 2 remained stable. The annual inflation rate has been moving towards deflation since the second half of 2025, with rates ranging from -0.9% to -0.5%. At the same time, the 'e-kalathi' shows an increase in the number of available products in major supermarkets.
