Turkish authorities announced the dismantling of a spy network with links to Iran, which is accused of collecting military and security information, as well as planning potential attacks, including reconnaissance of the Incirlik Air Base. According to the Daily Sabah newspaper, the network was allegedly directed by Iranian intelligence officials and planned to transport armed drones from Turkey to Cyprus, possibly also to the Republic of Cyprus, through shell companies. Six people were arrested and detained, charged with obtaining classified state information for espionage purposes. MIT, the Turkish National Intelligence Agency, carried out extensive operations against spy and terrorist networks in 2025.
