Cyta Seeks Parliamentary Approval to Enter Energy Market

Cyta is addressing an open letter to Parliament and the public, requesting approval of the bill that will allow it to enter the energy market. Cyta argues that entering the energy market is a strategic choice for Cyprus, which will promote evolution, innovation, and more choices for citizens. It emphasizes that this regulation will contribute to the green transition, the development of new services, and the expansion of consumer choices, while stating that it can offer better electricity prices through competition. At the same time, Cyta stresses the need for a dynamic EAC and a framework that will allow other entities to contribute to the energy market. It argues that competition has driven it to evolve and improve, benefiting consumers and Cyprus as a whole. Failure to approve the bill, it warns, will undermine its development potential and dividend contribution.
