Cyprus Tourism: 19 Million Overnight Stays Projected for 2025

The number of overnight stays in tourist accommodations in Cyprus is projected to reach 18.6 million in 2025, marking a 4% increase compared to the previous year, according to Eurostat data. The majority of these stays are attributed to foreign visitors (17.3 million), while domestic visitors account for 1.4 million overnight stays. At the EU level, an estimated 3.08 billion overnight stays are expected in 2025, up 2% from 2024. This increase is primarily driven by the growth in international visitors (+46.1 million), while the rise in domestic visitors is slower (+15.4 million). Hotels and similar accommodations accounted for the largest share of overnight stays (63%), followed by holiday homes (24%) and campsites (13%). Almost all EU countries are expected to see a tourism increase in 2025, with Malta, Poland, and Latvia recording the largest gains.
