The Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a further strengthening of relations with the United Arab Emirates and the European Union. This decision was made during a meeting between Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna, and UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh. The recent historic visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Cyprus was discussed during the working lunch. Mr. Kombos stated that the discussion focused on strengthening Cyprus-UAE bilateral relations, EU-UAE relations during the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council, and exchanging views on regional developments. The meeting marks a continued effort to deepen cooperation between Cyprus, the UAE, and the EU.
