Cyprus Property Trial Continues with New Witnesses and Allegations of Political Motivation

The trial of German real estate agent Eva Isabella Kiunzel, accused of illegally acquiring Greek Cypriot properties in the northern part of Cyprus, continued with the cross-examination of investigator Dimitra Stavrou. The defense argued that the defendant could not have known the ownership status of the properties, as advertisements did not differentiate between Greek and Turkish Cypriot properties. The defendant's lawyer, Sotiris Argyrou, accused the investigating authorities of political motives and a lack of impartiality in the investigation. Investigator Stavrou refuted these claims, emphasizing that the investigation is objective and based on evidence both for and against. The defense also criticized the authorities for not investigating the defendant's report regarding advertisements in magazines such as Forbes and Belle Vue. The witness responded that the magazines mention the situation in Cyprus and the non-recognition of the pseudo-state. Two court dates have been set for next week, Monday, January 19th and Friday, January 23rd.
