Cyprus Police Union Calls for Protest Over Working Hours

The Pan-Cypriot Police Union ISOTITA is calling on its members from all branches of the Police to participate in a protest outside the Parliament on Wednesday at 09:00 am, regarding the working hours and days off of police officers. ISOTITA denounces a unilateral decision by the Police Leadership to change the schedule from 12x36 to 11x37, considering it a institutional deviation and arbitrariness. It argues that this change is being imposed without the consent of the Council of Ministers and the Parliament, violating the law and the labor rights of police officers. The union emphasizes that the new regulation will lead to increased workload, a reduction in annual leave days from 19.5 to 4 days and 7.5 hours, and additional unpaid work for its members. It has already filed an Application for Cancellation with the Administrative Court to overturn the decision.
