Cyprus' Olympic Committee Supports EU Council Presidency

The Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC) has expressed its support for Cyprus as it takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union for a second time in the first half of 2026. The COC President, Georgios Chrysostomou, emphasized the importance of this moment and pledged ethical and practical support for the role of responsibility undertaken by the country. Mr. Chrysostomou's statement highlights the connection between the values of Olympism – peace, cooperation, dignity – and the goals of the Presidency, striving for a peaceful society that respects human dignity.
