Cyprus House Speaker Thanks Greek PM for Practical Support

The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, expressed her gratitude to the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for Greece's practical support to Cyprus. This gratitude was expressed during a telephone conversation between the two leaders. Ms. Demetriou emphasized that Greece is demonstrating in this way that it remains steadfastly by Cyprus's side in this critical juncture. She praised the immediate response and continuous cooperation with the Greek government, emphasizing that this support strengthens the sense of security and stability. Furthermore, Ms. Demetriou referred to the deployment of the Greek frigates “Kimonas” and “Psara,” as well as fighter jets, as a substantial strengthening of Cyprus's defense and protection of its critical infrastructure. She highlighted the unbreakable national and fraternal ties between Cyprus and Greece. The President of the House also had a telephone conversation with the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, who expressed his support and solidarity with Cyprus.
