Cyprus Diaspora and Tech Ecosystem: First Meeting in London

Over 100 founders, researchers, and startup executives with strong ties to Cyprus attended the first event organized by Cyprus Seeds and 33East in the United Kingdom, aiming to strengthen collaboration between the Cypriot diaspora and the Cypriot technology ecosystem. The event, held at the Cyprus High Commission with the support of the Trade Department, showcased successful startups such as Electryone AI, Genie Fertility, and Tyten, who shared their experiences regarding development and the challenges of technological entrepreneurship. Ioannis Kasinopoulos presented Electryone AI and its efforts to transform homes into active participants in the energy network, while Andreas Chatzimitsis analyzed the Genie Fertility model, which uses molecular data for personalized fertility solutions. Tom Petridis presented Tyten, an artificial intelligence platform for building facility management. Cyprus Seeds and 33East informed participants about funding opportunities, mentoring, and access to international partner networks. The event concluded with a social gathering to strengthen relationships between participants. This initiative is part of a broader strategy of the two organizations to connect founders, researchers, and investors in international markets and enhance Cyprus's presence on the global technology map. 33East invests in startups at the pre-seed and seed stages, while Cyprus Seeds supports the transfer of scientific research to the market, aiming to promote science-based entrepreneurship.
