Cyprus Cancer Association Launches Campaign for Cervical Cancer Prevention

The Cyprus Cancer Association (PASYKAF) is launching an awareness campaign for the prevention and early diagnosis of cervical cancer, which will run until February 1, 2026. The campaign, under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, aims to raise public awareness about the importance of preventive screening. In Cyprus, an average of 37 new cases of cervical cancer are recorded annually, with approximately 11 deaths in the last five years. Cervical cancer usually develops slowly and can be detected early through Pap tests and HPV tests, which are covered by the Cyprus National Health System (GeSY). PASYKAF encourages HPV vaccination for children and prioritizes women's health.
