Cyprus and Qatar Discuss Regional Developments and Bilateral Cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Konstantinos Kompos, met with the Minister of International Cooperation of Qatar, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, to discuss regional issues and strengthen bilateral cooperation between Cyprus and Qatar. The meeting took place on the occasion of Cyprus's official assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the EU. Mr. Kompos stated that the discussion focused on ways to further deepen relations between the two countries, as well as examining current regional developments. Cyprus and Qatar are seeking to enhance their cooperation in various fields. The meeting is part of Cyprus's diplomatic efforts to promote its interests in the region and strengthen its relations with important partners such as Qatar. Cyprus assumes the Presidency of the Council of the EU with the aim of playing an active role in addressing the challenges facing Europe. Strengthening relations with Qatar is considered important for Cyprus, given the geopolitical significance of Qatar and its role in the Middle East region.
