The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, reiterated the desire to deepen relations with Bahrain at the political, economic, and strategic levels during an official visit to Manama. He praised Bahrain's leadership and emphasized the importance of a common approach to international issues, such as international law and maritime security, based on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Mr. Christodoulides highlighted Cyprus's role as a bridge between the European Union and the Gulf countries, particularly during the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. He noted Bahrain's active participation in the launch of the Cypriot Presidency as an indication of the depth of bilateral relations. Furthermore, the prospects for cooperation in the financial and technological sectors were highlighted, with Cyprus offering advantages as a gateway to the European market. The President presented the positive macroeconomic data of Cyprus, such as strong growth, fiscal stability, and declining unemployment. Finally, the common approach of Cyprus and Bahrain to promoting peace and maritime security, as well as the importance of interfaith dialogue and tolerance, was emphasized. This visit marks a new phase in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting common goals.
