Cyprus: €12 Million Funding Boost for Affordable Housing in Strovolos

The Cyprus Land Development Corporation (CLDC) has received an additional €12 million in funding from the Ministry of Interior for the construction of affordable rental units in the Municipality of Strovolos. The agreement was signed by the Director-General of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Elikkos A. Ilias, and the Director-General of the CLDC, Eleni Symeonidou. The funding will be used to build 54 two-bedroom apartments, which will be allocated to eligible beneficiaries of affordable housing. The project is part of the state's comprehensive housing policy, aiming to increase the housing stock and provide affordable homes. The Christodoulides government has reactivated the CLDC, assigning it a key role in implementing housing plans. Construction of affordable rental projects in Limassol is already underway, with plans to build an additional 181 units in 2025 and another 258 in the future.
