Cypriot FM Discusses Regional Developments with Bahrain, Israel

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos held telephone conversations with Bahrain's Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, as part of discussions on regional developments. The conversation with the Bahraini Foreign Minister took place jointly with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kajsa Kalas, who was in Cyprus on a two-day visit with the College of Commissioners. The talks focused on the exchange of views on current regional developments and the efforts of the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council to achieve stability and security through dialogue and diplomacy. Mr. Kombos stressed the importance of diplomacy in de-escalation and maintaining regional security and stability, both in his communication with the Bahraini Foreign Minister and with the Israeli Foreign Minister. These conversations are part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts of Cyprus and the EU to address the challenges in the wider region and promote peace and security. Cyprus seeks to play a constructive role in promoting dialogue and cooperation between the countries of the region.
