Court Sets Hearing Date for Police Union's Appeal Against Duty Hour Reduction

The Administrative Court has set a schedule for the submission of applications and objections regarding the appeal of the 'Isotita' (Equality) police union against the decision of the Chief of Police to reduce police duty hours. The application must be served on the Chief of Police by January 22, 2026, while any objection must be filed by February 2, 2026. The hearing of the interim application has been set for February 4, 2026, along with the hearing of the main application. The 'Isotita' union held meetings with leaders of AKEL and ELAM, where the issue of duty hours, as well as other issues concerning the police organization and the increase in crime, were discussed. The union explained the problem with the duty hours and its consequences.
