Court Rejects Syka's Request for Temporary Injunction

The Limassol District Court has dismissed Nikos Syka's request for a temporary injunction to halt the review of the DISY party's decision to remove him from the ballot until the main application is heard. The Court ruled that there was no clear violation of the party's statutes or Syka's rights to justify the issuance of the injunction. Syka's main application, concerning the annulment of the DISY Political Bureau's decision, will be considered at a later stage. The Court stated that to succeed in obtaining a temporary injunction, a clear demonstration of a violation of rules and the applicant's rights would be necessary, which was not the case here. Neither party requested the other to bear the costs.
