Couple Traveling the World on a Motorcycle Imprisoned in Iran Amidst War: "Living with Rodents and Cockroaches"

British couple Lindsey and Craig Forman have been detained in Iran since January 2025 on espionage charges, which they deny. Their family alleges that the couple is being used as "effective human shields" amidst the conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel. They have been sentenced to 10 years in prison. According to the family, Evin Prison has been damaged by a recent explosion, resulting in plaster and glass falling on prisoners. Living conditions are described as appalling, with small cells, rodents, cockroaches, and a lack of basic amenities. Lindsey’s son, Joe Bennett, reports that his parents live under the constant noise of drones. The family is criticizing the British government for the limited support it provides, describing it as "almost non-existent." Disappointed by the lack of response, they have turned to international organizations and have reported the situation at conferences. The British government has described the sentence as "completely unjustified" and has stated that it will continue to push for their release, however, there has been no recent official statement.
