Το Τμήμα Δασών του Υπουργείου Γεωργίας, Αγροτικής Ανάπτυξης και Περιβάλλοντος ενημερώνει το κοινό ότι στις 18 Μαρτίου, θα προχωρήσει στην εφαρμογή της μεθόδου της ελεγχόμενης καύσης στις παρυφές του Δάσους Μαχαιρά, στην περιοχή «Μαραθεύτης».
Σύμφωνα με σχετική ανακοίνωση, η συγκεκριμένη μέθοδος θα εφαρμόζεται σε πιλοτική βάση, στο πλαίσιο της διαχείρισης της καύσιμης δασικής ύλης και της ενίσχυσης των μέτρων πρόληψης δασικών πυρκαγιών.
Το Τμήμα Δασών επισημαίνει ότι η διαδικασία θα πραγματοποιηθεί υπό αυστηρή επίβλεψη και δεν συντρέχει κανένας λόγος ανησυχίας για το κοινό.
