Contract Awarded for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

A contract has been awarded for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Makarios Hospital, announced the President of the Parliamentary Committee on Health, Efthymios Diplaros, following the committee's session. Work is expected to begin at the end of March and beginning of April, with an estimated completion date at the end of July 2027. The award was made to a new contractor, retaining the same architect, after delays caused by problems with the previous contractor. The signing of the contract is expected within two weeks. The cost of the project will amount to €10 million, an amount which has been included in the budget of the OKYPY. The committee meeting also focused on the bill for the Ambulance Service, which is at the stage of article-by-article discussion and is expected to be put before the plenary session of the House for a vote. This bill aims to improve the operation and efficiency of the emergency care system in Cyprus.
