Construction Material Prices Increase by 0.60% in February

Construction material prices in Cyprus increased by 0.60% in February 2026 year-on-year, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus. The monthly increase was 0.33%. The Construction Materials Price Index reached 119.28 units with a base year of 2021=100. The largest increases were recorded in electromechanical goods (2.27%), wood products, insulation, chemicals and plastics (1.64%), and minerals (0.94%). These increases indicate pressures in specific sectors of the construction industry. Conversely, decreases were observed in metal products (-0.45%) and mineral products (-0.08%). These decreases may be due to various factors, such as global supply and demand, geopolitical developments, and changes in raw material prices. Overall, for the period January-February 2026, the index showed an increase of 0.84% compared to the same period in 2025. This trend indicates a continued upward trend in construction material prices, which may affect the cost of construction projects.
