Consecutive Rains Expected - Climate Watch Data for March and Areas of Concern

A change in the weather pattern is expected in the Eastern Mediterranean, with increased rainfall above normal levels for the period of March 19-31, 2026. According to forecasts from the Meteorological Department and the Climate Watch Advisory Group, rainfall is expected to be above normal, especially in central and eastern Mediterranean, including Cyprus. Rainfall heights are expected to range between 25 and 75 millimeters, with the possibility of local flooding. Despite the potential improvement in soil moisture, the hydrological situation remains demanding due to low water reserves, making rational water use essential. The Meteorological Department is monitoring the evolution of weather phenomena and will provide updates as needed.
