Colombian President Points to Area for Survivors of US-Bombed Vessels

Colombian President Gustavo Petro indicated a maritime area where survivors of vessels bombed by the US military may be found, due to suspicions of drug trafficking. President Petro stated that at least three people were killed in the attack, while others survived by jumping into the sea. The announcement followed confirmation from SOUTHCOM of a strike against three speedboats involved in drug trafficking, with at least three fatalities and others fleeing into the sea. Mr. Petro called on all governments in the region to cooperate in locating potential survivors and has strongly criticized US military operations in the area, arguing that victims are often individuals not involved in drug trafficking. In total, at least 110 people have been killed in similar attacks since September.
