City Friends Club: Removed 200 Tons of Waste Across Cyprus in 2025

The City Friends Club concluded 2025 with significant environmental achievements in Cyprus. It successfully removed a total of 198 tons of waste from urban and natural areas through daily street cleaning in Limassol and 46 organized volunteer and corporate initiatives in Limassol, Paphos, and Larnaca, with the participation of over 2,400 people. Furthermore, the organization provided assistance to communities affected by the fires in Sooni, removing burnt debris and restoring safety. A key milestone for the City Friends Club was obtaining ISO 14001 certification, making it the first environmental organization in Cyprus to achieve this recognition. This certification confirms the organization's commitment to responsible environmental management and the measurability of its impacts. Waste prevention initiatives, such as the Coffee Friends Club program, also contributed to reducing waste at the source, enhancing the overall environmental impact of the City Friends Club. The organization continues to focus on practical work to maintain cleanliness in Cyprus.
