Christodoulides: Those Unable to Attend Talks Should Say So Publicly - Response to Olgin

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, reiterated his readiness for an expanded conference next week with the aim of resuming negotiations on the Cyprus issue, from where they were interrupted in Cran Montana. He responded to statements by the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Maria Angela Olgin, who mentioned the need for time for ideas to mature, emphasizing that the Greek Cypriot side is ready. The President questioned how parliamentary elections and the Presidency of the Council of the EU could hinder the resumption of talks, calling on those unable to attend to say so publicly. He also commented negatively on the delays in the Agios Dometios crossing.
