The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, presented a proposal for the resumption of Cyprus negotiations during a meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Erhurman and the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Maria Angela Holguin. The proposal focuses on reaffirming the basis for a solution, preparing convergences by the United Nations, sharing convergences with both communities and the five participants, and convening an Expanded Conference to formally restart talks. Additionally, the opening of four checkpoints is proposed. President Christodoulides expressed hope for positive developments and stated that the discussion will continue, even without the participation of Ms. Holguin. He declined to comment on Mr. Erhurman's response, adhering to an agreement not to speak for each other, and reiterated his position on the four points submitted by the Turkish Cypriot leader. He also emphasized the existence of a document recording the positions of the two sides (blue-red) and the agreed ones (black).
