Christodoulides on Controversial Video: “I Will Not Allow Corruption Allegations”

President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, publicly addressed the controversial video showing his Chief of Staff, Charalambos Charalambous, and former Energy Minister, Giorgos Lakkotrypis, conversing with an alleged investor regarding pre-election funding and contributions to the First Lady's Fund. The President called on anyone with evidence of bribery to submit it to the relevant authorities, while simultaneously stating he will not allow anyone to accuse him of corruption. He maintained that efforts to attract investment continue “for the good of the country” and that investing companies should contribute socially within the framework of corporate responsibility.
