Changes in Criteria for Admission to Military Schools in Cyprus

The Ministry of Defense has announced changes to the admission criteria for military schools for the year 2026. The changes primarily concern the anthropometric data and health of candidates, in order to align with the standards of corresponding schools in Greece. Specifically, the minimum height requirement is set at 1.65 meters for male candidates and 1.55 meters for female candidates. For the Flying Department of the Air Force Academy, the height limits are 1.70-1.90 meters for men and 1.65-1.90 meters for women, with a maximum torso height of 1 meter for both. Additionally, limits are set for the Body Mass Index (BMI), with different limits for men and women, as well as criteria for visual acuity and color recognition for candidates of the Naval Academy and the Permanent Naval Non-Commissioned Officers School. The application deadline has been extended to March 26, 2026.
