Can the EU solve the housing crisis?

The European Parliament's Special Committee on the Housing Crisis has approved its final recommendations, paving the way for substantial changes. MEP Giorgos Mavridis pointed out that he managed to include the issue in the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, however Cyprus did not include it in its national plan. The European Parliament proposes specific recommendations, such as legislative interventions, increased grants and incentives for member states, reducing bureaucracy and increasing housing supply. It is estimated that housing supply needs to increase by 650,000 homes per year at the European level by 2030, and the EU should cooperate with the private sector.
