BYD: The New Force in the Automotive Market

BYD, the global leader in New Energy Vehicles, continues to achieve top performance, within 5 months of its presence in the Cypriot market. The company has achieved record sales in just five months. The warm reception of the brand is reflected in the strong interest in the modern showrooms in Nicosia and Limassol, as well as in the registration figures. After the premieres of August and September, BYD continued its top performance in October, taking first place in the rankings of all-electric vehicles (EVs) with a market share of 33% for the third consecutive month. In addition, it achieved excellent results in the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) category, taking first place in registrations for the second consecutive month (September – October) with the SEAL U DM-i model and a market share of 33% in October. This dynamic presence is expected to be further strengthened with the upcoming arrival of the full range of Super Hybrid models in early 2026. The company is investing in expanding its product range, with the arrival of three new models within the first quarter of 2026, including electric and Super Hybrid versions. Super Hybrid models combine the advantages of electric drive with increased range (over 1,000km), offering "an electric vehicle without the range anxiety". Cyprus, with its short distances and favorable weather conditions, is an ideal environment for electric vehicles, as these conditions contribute to lower energy consumption and reduced battery stress, thus facilitating daily use.
