BYD Unveils New Battery and Charging Technologies to Accelerate EV Adoption

BYD is introducing its Blade Battery 2.0 and FLASH Charging technologies, aimed at removing barriers to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. FLASH Charging technology enables charging speeds of up to 1,500 kW, significantly reducing charging times – from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes, even in low temperatures. The Blade Battery 2.0 offers increased range, exceeding 1,000 km (CLTC) thanks to a 5% increase in energy density. BYD plans to install 20,000 chargers in China by 2026 and expand the network to international markets. BYD Chairman and CEO Wang Chuanfu emphasized the need to address slow charging speeds and reduced performance in low temperatures as key obstacles to EV adoption.
