Bridging the Gap Between Research and Business in Cyprus

The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has launched two new funding programs, “Proof of Concept” and “Research in Enterprises,” aiming to bridge the gap between research and entrepreneurship in Cyprus. These programs seek to transform academic knowledge into innovative products and services, enhancing the country's competitiveness. Additionally, the new MatchMe tool will serve as a link between researchers and businesses, facilitating the finding of partners. The success of this initiative depends on the response of Cypriot businesses, which must take advantage of the opportunities offered to remain at the forefront of technological progress. Strengthening collaboration between academia and the private sector is considered crucial for economic development and innovation in Cyprus.
