Bomb from AS: “Real Madrid Agreed with NBA Europe”

According to a report in the Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid has agreed with NBA Europe to participate in the new competition that will begin in the fall of 2027. This move could signal the team's withdrawal from the EuroLeague. AS reports that meetings between NBA representatives and EuroLeague teams, including Real Madrid, took place recently as part of NBA games in Berlin and London. The new competition will consist of 16 teams: 12 permanent and 4 temporary, with one of the temporary teams being the Champions League winner and the other three qualifying through domestic competitions. Real Madrid is reportedly seeking to join the new competition, while Barcelona has already renewed its contract with the EuroLeague. Fenerbahçe, the current trophy holder, has not yet clarified its intentions. The NBA is targeting cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London, Milan, Athens, and Istanbul for the competition.
