Bishop of Karpasia Cleared of Financial Allegations

The Bishop of Karpasia, Christoforos, received a letter from TAE regarding the allegations made against him concerning the transfer of funds to his personal accounts. According to the letter, the Police concluded that no criminal offense was committed and the case is considered non-existent. The Bishop of Karpasia stated that the development restores the truth. The allegations concerned the period 2020-2021, where the Bishop was allegedly transferring funds from contributions of the Pan-Cypriot Parents' Association (PEG) to his personal accounts. The Bishop had made himself available to the authorities for a full investigation of the claims. However, in a letter on behalf of the complainant, disagreement is expressed with the outcome of the case and questions are raised to the competent authorities. The complainant challenges the police's conclusions and calls for further investigation. The case caused scandal and concern, while the Bishop of Karpasia expressed his regret for the disruption and called for peace and unity.
