Bill on Joint Ownership Buildings Returned to Government

The bill concerning jointly owned buildings will be returned to the Government for further processing, announced the President of the House Interior Affairs Committee, Aristos Damianou. This decision was made due to the lack of agreement with the Provincial Administrations (EOA) regarding the responsibilities and management of jointly owned buildings. Mr. Damianou expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the Government submitted a bill without prior consultation with the EOAs, despite the Committee's efforts to facilitate dialogue. He emphasized that the legislation must be functional and applicable, taking into account the needs and specificities of jointly owned buildings. The House Interior Affairs Committee has given the Government a limited timeframe to find a solution with the EOAs or to resubmit a revised bill. The need for modern legislation regulating jointly owned buildings is significant, as it is a social problem affecting many citizens. Mr. Damianou expressed hope that the Government will make greater efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement and meet the expectations of society.
