UK Did Not Authorize Offensive Missions from Akrotiri

The UK has not authorized the execution of offensive missions from RAF Akrotiri, according to the BBC. Simultaneously, reports of the launch of two Iranian missiles towards the British base at Diego Garcia have been confirmed, however, none of them reached their target. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report the incident, while the information was confirmed by BBC sources. The British Ministry of Defence has not issued an official statement regarding the missile launch, limiting itself to a comment condemning Iran's aggressive actions in the region, characterizing them as a threat to British interests and allies. The UK has authorized US forces to use the Diego Garcia base for defensive operations, but no attacks have been launched from there so far. The US has carried out operations from RAF Fairford. It is important to note that the UK has not approved offensive missions from RAF Akrotiri, maintaining a clear distinction between defensive and offensive operations at its bases.
