UK Restricts US Use of Akrotiri Base for Offensive Missions

The United Kingdom has not authorized the United States to launch offensive missions from the RAF Akrotiri base in Cyprus, despite escalating tensions in the region. Simultaneously, reports have been confirmed regarding the launch of two Iranian missiles towards the base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, which, however, did not reach their target. The UK Ministry of Defence has not commented on the incident but emphasized that Iranian attacks pose a threat to British interests. Conversely, London has approved defensive bombing missions from the Diego Garcia base, while the US has already conducted strikes from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. The situation highlights the strategic importance of British bases in the area, with Cyprus not being used for offensive operations.
