Bank of Cyprus to Acquire CDBbank's Performing Loans and Deposits

The Bank of Cyprus and the Cyprus Development Bank (CDBbank) have reached an agreement for the acquisition of CDBbank's performing loan and deposit portfolio by the Bank of Cyprus. The transaction includes loans of approximately €150 million and deposits of approximately €500 million, with a reference date of December 31, 2025. The Bank of Cyprus expects a moderately positive impact on results and a limited impact on capital. The agreement is subject to the approval of CDBbank's shareholders, the signing of documents, and the approval of the competent authorities, with an expected completion in the second half of 2026. CDBbank shareholders, representing 96% of the share capital, have already committed to voting in favor of the agreement. CDBbank states that the agreement is the result of responsible management and ensures the transition of its operations to a stronger banking structure.
