Baby Food Recall Expanded by Cyprus Health Ministry

The Cyprus Ministry of Health has announced a recall of NAN optipro 1 baby food (800g, batch number 51210346AB, expiration date 11/2026) due to the potential presence of cereulide, a toxin produced by the Bacillus cereus microorganism. The recall concerns products distributed in Cyprus and is being carried out voluntarily by Nestle. Furthermore, the initial recall announced on January 8th is being expanded to include S-26 GOLD 1 400g (batch number 51550346AE, expiration date 30/6/2027), NAN EXPERTpro SENSITIVE PLUS 400g (batch number 51250742C1, expiration date 30/11/2026), and NAN EXPERTpro Lactose Free 400g (batch number 51520346AD, expiration date 30/6/2027). The Ministry of Health urges consumers who possess these specific batches to refrain from using them and return them to the stores where they were purchased. Health authorities continue to investigate the incident and will issue a further announcement if additional products are distributed through parallel trade. Consumers who made purchases online from websites outside of Cyprus are also advised to check if their products fall within the recalled batches. The safety of infants is the priority, and the recall is being carried out as a precautionary measure to avoid any risk.
