Attempted Murder in Larnaca: 22-year-old in Criminal Court with serious charges

The 22-year-old accused of attempting to murder a 47-year-old businessman in Larnaca will appear again before the Permanent Criminal Court on February 2nd. The defense attorney requested an extension of time to study the evidence provided. The accused faces nine charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and illegal possession of weapons. Police arrested him in November, following an investigation that began in October when information surfaced that the 22-year-old had boasted about the attempted murder. During the search of his home, police found a pistol, bullets, masks, and mobile phones. The genetic material found on a garment that fell from the perpetrator during his escape attempt was identified as belonging to the accused. In addition, videos were found on his mobile phone showing him monitoring the victim before and after the attack. The attempted murder took place in July, while the businessman was cycling towards the Krasa area. The businessman was not injured.
