Attempted Murder in Independence Street: Victim Identified Suspects – Father Prepared Boat for Escape

A 30-year-old and a 20-year-old, brothers from Lebanon, have been placed under six-day arrest in connection with the attempted murder of a 36-year-old Syrian in Limassol in December 2025. The two men surrendered to the British Bases and were subsequently handed over to the Police. According to investigations, the 36-year-old was attacked with a taser and knife by the two brothers, with the 20-year-old being the perpetrator of the stabbing. Following the attack, the suspects attempted to flee. Their father is alleged to have purchased a large boat to help them escape the country, while the 30-year-old tried to sell his car to raise funds. Police managed to locate and arrest the two brothers in the Ormideia sea area. The 20-year-old invoked his right to silence, while the 30-year-old is expected to be interrogated. Warrants have been issued against the two for offenses such as conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and assault. Their father is wanted for aiding and abetting their escape. The case has caused great unrest in the community, and the Police continue their investigations to clarify all aspects of the matter.
