Athens Stock Exchange Reaches 16-Year High

The Athens Stock Exchange recorded a significant increase on Thursday, closing at a new 16-year high of 2,204.24 points, with gains of 1.87%. The total market capitalization exceeded €150 billion, up by €2.4 billion compared to the previous day, while turnover moved at particularly high levels, reaching €662.092 million. The shares of banks, Piraeus, Eurobank and National Bank, stood out with the highest returns, while the shares of Coca Cola HBC also saw a significant increase. Conversely, the shares of Motor Oil, OPAP, Metlen, Elvalhalcor and Hellenic Petroleum moved downwards. There was significant interest in Alpha Bank, with transactions amounting to €216.29 million in two large packages. The rise of the Athens Stock Exchange continues to strengthen the positive climate in the Greek economy and attract investment interest. The increased volatility and trading volume indicate intense investor activity and expectations for further market growth.
