The Federation of Employers & Industrialists (OEB) informs businesses adjusting employee salaries based on the Automatic Cost of Living Adjustment (ATA). The Consumer Price Index (excluding consumption taxes) for 2025 recorded an increase of 0.13%. According to the Standing Agreement between the Social Partners, salaries will be adjusted by 80% of the annual index increase on January 1, 2026, provided there is positive growth. Additionally, on July 1, 2026, there will be a further adjustment of 10% of the annual index increase, reaching a total of 90%. This translates to an increase of 0.10% on total salaries in effect on December 31, 2025, or an increase from 12.56% to 12.67% on basic salaries. From July 1, 2026, the percentages will be 0.12% (an additional 0.02% on total salaries) or 12.70% (an additional 0.03% on basic salaries). The OEB provides examples of calculating the ATA for total and basic salaries. It is noted that these examples do not include any general increases or allowances granted during the period 2018-2025. For further clarification, interested parties can contact the Labour Relations & Social Policy Department of the OEB at 22-643000.
