Assurances from Starmer to President: "Bases Not Used, Nor Will Be"

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, assured that the British Bases in Cyprus have not been and will not be used for military operations in the region, following communication with the British Prime Minister. Cyprus is ready to offer humanitarian assistance in addressing the crisis. The 'Estia' plan has been activated, but so far there are no evacuation requests, only requests for aircraft parking at airports. Cypriot Diplomatic Missions are available to Cypriot citizens in the countries of the region. The National Security Council has met and the government is closely monitoring the situation, hoping for de-escalation.
