ANT1 Poll: AKEL and DISY at 21%

A new poll by CYMAR Market Research Ltd. for ANT1 shows that AKEL and DISY are at 21% in voting intention, with a large percentage of undecided voters (24%). The poll, conducted from March 6th to 14th, 2026, on a sample of 1,011 citizens, reveals that AKEL maintains a stable presence despite the emergence of new parties. Citizens express concerns about organized crime (82%), the economy (49% are worried that it is getting worse), and the Cyprus issue (74%). AKEL has historically proposed solutions to these issues, which strengthens its appeal. Trust in traditional parties is low (22%), but AKEL is presented as a reliable and progressive force. 72% of citizens state they will “definitely” or “probably” vote, indicating that AKEL’s base is mobilized. Citizens view the presence of new parties positively (70% believe they increase voices in Parliament), but this does not weaken AKEL, as it strengthens the need for a stable leftist force. The poll suggests that AKEL has the potential to compete for first place in the elections, as it has a strong base, focuses on important issues, and presents itself as a credible alternative.
