Bilateral Team Preparing to Travel to Moscow to Question Annie Alexui

A two-member team, consisting of a criminal investigator and a Ministry of Justice official, is preparing to travel to Moscow to record the testimony of Ioanna Fotiou, also known as Annie Alexui, regarding cases involving her and other individuals. This move is being made to avoid the involvement of the Police, given that Fotiou is wanted under international and European arrest warrants. Justice Minister Kostas Fytiris is in constant communication with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Legal Service regarding the matter. Everything Fotiou has to say will be investigated, but the process of obtaining the information is under consideration. The most likely scenario is the dispatch of the team to Moscow, as soon as the green light is received from the Russian authorities. The selection of a criminal investigator with legal experience and a Ministry of Justice official aims to ensure legality and avoid problems due to Fotiou's distrust of the Paphos Police. Already, a lawyer with experience in serious cases is in consultation with responsible officials to ensure the correct procedure. The Legal Service is evaluating the videos posted by Fotiou, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and the Police. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already sent a request to the Russian authorities regarding Fotiou's residency status in Moscow, investigating whether she has asylum and whether a visit by investigators is permitted. Developments are expected next week.
