ALMA Criticizes President's Statements on 'Videogate' Scandal

The ALMA- Citizens for Cyprus movement has accused the President of the Republic of evading serious questions in his statements regarding the 'Videogate' scandal involving alleged black donations. ALMA argues that the President's statements attempt to retroactively legitimize practices that are outside the institutional framework and illegal. Specifically, they refer to the involvement of the President's son-in-law and friend in investment attraction processes, where they were soliciting offers directly from investors. The movement calls for an immediate investigation by the Anti-Corruption Authority and the European Public Prosecutor's Office, as well as the resignation of the President's son-in-law from his position as Director of the President's Office and his wife from her position as President of the Social Support Agency.
