Alexandra Leads the Way

Volt MP Alexandra Attalidou and AKEL MP Giorgos Koukoumas are leading the way in protecting the elderly and combating racism against them. They have prioritized the removal of discrimination and the insurance of elderly drivers over the age of 70. The two MPs have submitted a bill to include age and disability in the law on combating racism and xenophobia, with the aim of protecting against hate speech based on these characteristics. This initiative is expected to receive a positive response from 17-18% of the population, or approximately 200-205 thousand people. This move is considered to strengthen their electoral power in the upcoming elections, as the elderly are expected to support them with their vote. This initiative demonstrates the sensitivity of the two MPs to social issues and their efforts to promote equality and protect vulnerable groups of the population.
