AKEL Criticizes Government's Inability to Tackle Rising Crime

AKEL has expressed strong concern over the increase in crime in Cyprus, following a recent armed conflict in Larnaca. The party accused the government of being unable to effectively address organized crime, emphasizing that citizens' insecurity is intensifying. AKEL highlighted the existence of a necessary legal framework to combat crime, but pointed to a lack of political will and determination on the part of the government. Fytiris spoke of a crisis and a surge in organized crime during a meeting at the Larnaca ADE. AKEL calls on the President of the Republic and the competent Minister to take immediate and decisive action to restore citizens' safety.
